From Blah to Beautiful!

I make a regular date with my girlfriend to peruse the local thrift store
for excellent finds. Two weeks ago, as we strolled the aisles, I came across three very sturdy wooden TV tray tables. It seems every time it's my turn to host Thanksgiving, I always wind up with one or two stray souls who didn't quite grab a chair at the feasting table. So this is my answer! The tops were terribly worn but in fabulous shape so I gave them a quick sanding and coat of primer. After painting them black, I then cut a simple circle in mylar to use as a background design and stenciled just the edge of it in gold in the center of the tables top. I then added our

After painting the edges gold and two coats of wipe on poly sealer, those tables now are fit for a King to feast at! What a fun project that was and I am now using them as occasional tables whenever extra guests are hunting for a solid surface to rest their coffee cup. The great thing about them is that they quickly fold flat for storing when I don't need them!
