Kitty Ariza Adds Drama to Her Fireplace

Kitty Ariza has given us so many cool ideas that are featured here on the website and this one is another that I just love.

She cast plaster pieces from our Oasis Mold, then using joint compound as the adhesive, applied them to the center of the front facia board of her fireplace.

She then painted them white to match the fireplace mantle and surround which makes them appear to be carved right in to the wood.

I used the same mold to create a very ornate frame around my crystal chandelier in my dining room. It took me two days to cast all the pieces and only one hour to put them up on the ceiling. Cool! Hey?

I then painted the frame the same color as the ceiling to truly add beauty to that ceiling and make the chandelier even more interesting.
