Asha Carvalho
really wanted something cool on her wall. Something
that would bring a bit of Italy in to her home without having to do a large
wall to accomplish what she was after.
Choosing a small wall between two doors, Asha used our
Freestyle
Painted Grapes Stencil,
Brick Stencil
and
Garden Pots
Stencil to create a vignette of grape vines and break way Italian
plaster.
What fun she must have had as she took those grapes all
the way to the ceiling over the top of faux sponged walls in aged rust
color. The design really stands out and creates a fun vignette in an
otherwise un-used area of the room.
White molding offsets the design beautifully...
Fun idea Asha! Thank you for contributing....
Designer's tip: Dealing with those
switch plate covers in your mural or wall design? Instead of having a white
plate cover mucking up the continuity of your mural, incorporate it right in
to the design...how? By priming it, covering the switch or outlet with tape,
then treating the switch or light plate cover as part of the wall. Include
it in your faux finish, stenciling or mural design as if it didn't even
exist and watch it disappear!
