Nancy Hathaway found a design
she really loved. It's called "Ponder" and she wanted to use it as a mural
on her wall.
How would she accomplish this feat? She simply used a projector to
cast the image on to the wall and then hand painted the design in black and
red.
Look closely at the extreme detail of the dress, the hat, and
especially the umbrella. It's very ornate and I can imagine took her hours
to do. But what she got by her labor is something she will love for a long
time to come.
Artists have used projectors since they were invented to enlarge a
design or even a persons photo on to large canvases for portraits. You can
typically rent them from your local library.
This method is fabulous for Mom's who want to add a child's favorite
cartoon character to a whimsical mural in their rooms or for muralists who
want to assist themselves in creating realistic clouds on a ceiling.
So if you have a specialty wall project in mind, consider this
technique, grab your paints and brushes and have a ball. And if it doesn't
come out quite right? Remember it's only paint and any part can simply be
re-done. Now go have fun!
Thanks Nancy!
