It only took me 6 hours to complete this 10 foot by 4 foot ceiling mural and I did it on the floor! Now all I have to do is hang it!

You too can create easy small or large ceiling murals while working on the floor!

Because so many people have a problem working over their head when considering a stenciled ceiling mural, I went on a hunt for the perfect solution!

Bless her pea-pickin' heart, Jade Weidland of The Stencil Shop came to my rescue! As we were discussing my dilemma one day, Jade said: "Victoria, just try Tara sign cloth". Duh! Gee! Why didn't I think of that!

So off I went to DickBlick.com where I ordered Tara All Weather Sign Cloth. Sold by the yard in 36" and 52" widths, you can get any length you need for your mural. Any rolled canvas will work but I do like the sign cloth a lot. It's already primed on one side, saving me the chore!
Shipped quick, the roll was here in just a few days!

I laid it on protective sheeting on the floor, painted in my sky mural background and got to work with our new Ceiling Mural Stencils.

Working at the outer edge,
I stenciled our Ceiling Mural Palm Tree Stencil ,

Ceiling Mural Italian Columns Stencil,

Ceiling Mural Banana Palm Stencil

our Ceiling Mural Large Tree Stencil

and Ceiling Mural Windswept Tree Stencil.

They came out great!

As fill ins, I hand painted some fun little vines and fern plants along the edges as well.

You can use any standard wall plant stencil for this application with great success! Consider our Artist's Vine Stencil, Flowering Vine Stencil
or a number of any other designs we carry in the plant family in our stencil line.

From the second I rolled out the canvas until the time I was finished, I clocked 6 hours. Man Oh Man! What an enormous difference in time than trying to do it directly on the ceiling. And the best part? I slept like a baby that night without a pain in my neck!

So now how do you hang your mural on the ceiling?
For a removable mural, try Blair Artist's Mounting Adhesive and follow the instructions for "Temporary Bond".
For permanent adhesion, try 3M's Super 77 Spray Adhesive
You can find both at DickBlick.com

Mark your ceiling off with the dimensions of your mural in the precise place you want it hung. Keep your mural rolled and with the help of a friend's two hand, spray and unroll your mural a little at a time, making sure you are following your marked lines as you go.

By keeping the mural rolled as you go, you save yourself incredible frustration!

Now you can enjoy your own ceiling mural and apply it in any room you choose! Wait until your friends and family gasp as they imagine you on a ladder for hours on end laboring intensively!

OK, so like the woman in the commercial who dusts flour on her face just before entering the dining room with her home baked goodies only to hear her poor family exclaim: "Mom! You must have worked so hard", let them believe what they will as you stand back, hold your neck, ask them to fetch you a glass of wine and smile sweetly to yourself!
