Donna O'Callahan
purchased our
Raised
Plaster Life-sized Palm Tree
Stencil then used it to cleverly frame
a wall in her New Jersey home.
Smart artist that she is, she has "uplights" on the floor
that in the evening will shine up on to the trees giving them a warm glow. I
love uplights and use them on my own Raised Plaster Aspen Tree wall designs in
my own home.
I can just imagine how gorgeous this looks with the
furniture back in place! Here's what Donna said about the stencil project:
Hi Victoria,
I have done a number of interior design projects and home remodels, but
the first time I used one of your products was on my latest project. I
used your Raised Plaster Life-sized Palm Tree on the wall of my home
overlooking the Raritan Bay in New Jersey. The stencil went tremendously
well with the rest of the homes tropical and nautical themes. As you can
see I chose to leave it white, as the wall was painted in “Goose Down” and
“Bar Harbor Beige”, and the natural plaster color blended well with those
restrained shades. I
think it turned out very well. I
was very impressed with the quality of your product and fast response of
your company.
Sincerely,
Donna O’Callahan
Thank you for sharing Donna! I love what you did with them!
Designer's Tip: To make your tree
project go faster, use our "skip" method when applying the trunk.
Do the first, repeat, skip the second,
do the third and so on. Since the joint compound must dry between repeats,
jumping past the next repeat allows you to continue on.
Once the first repeats are dry, simply
go back and use the stencil again to fill in the missing repeats. Begin adding
side branches to any portions that are dry and continue on with your tree
construction.
How to stencil with joint compound
You'll be pleasantly surprised!
Remember that any of our
plaster stencils can also be used with paint! |
