 Raised Plaster Small Designs #2

Click photos to enlarge

Obviously deathly sick of her kitchen, (you've been there, right? I know I have!) Yvonne Poppitz being the realistic, smart cookie she is, decided not to wait for her lottery ticket to come in or for old Aunt Bessie to leave her a fortune...by golly, she took matters in to her own capable hands and did something about it!

Her kitchen began as many of mine have...looking a bit 1970's with blah cupboards and counter tops.

With paint and brush in hand, she primed and painted those drab cupboards with a light and cheery cream color!

Using only our Raised Plaster Small Designs #2 Stencil, she then added raised designs using various elements from the stencil and joint compound, tinting them a rich brown color. She creatively mirrored the stencil designs to create a larger elements on the cupboard doors and drawers.

She then stenciled singular small elements on random thin cupboard doors. The thing that I love the most is that the use of more than one element creates a truly interesting look. Because they are all the same color makes each coordinate, bringing the entire project together just beautifully! And what a difference in her kitchen!

Is she done? HECK NO!!!! Check out what she did to her fireplace! There is no stopping this creative lady!

Thanks Yvonne!

Designer's tip:

You can mirror any stencil design to make it larger. So the next time you adore that smaller design but it's not large enough to fill the space intended, mirror and flip it to make it bigger.
