A 25 foot tall Raised Plaster Aspen Tree!

Our home in the forest of Idaho sports enormously tall, blank walls. But I see them as a canvas on which to create impressive designs!

Two years ago, I plastered a 25 foot version of our  Raised Plaster Aspen Tree Stencil on the large staircase wall that spans two floors.

Beginning in the middle of the staircase, the raised tree reaches clear to the ceiling of the upper level.

As we've been involved in major renovation of various parts of this house, the tree stood there un-finished until this past November when I decided it absolutely MUST be painted gold!

Mind you, I did this without a ladder! How? By taping an artists brush to the end of a pole and painting every leaf and branch by hand!

The cool thing was that because the design is raised, it was actually very easy to do!

Because I didn't want the starkness of just gold paint on the wall and felt that something a little more muted was in order, I mixed the gold paint with an equal part of transparent wall glaze.

The paint went on as smooth as silk and the tree now glimmers as the light catches it during different parts of the day. I have received so many compliments as friends and neighbors stop by to check out the progress.
