Decorating with Plaster Stenciling

Elegant Aspens bring in the forest

I love my Raised Plaster Aspen trees in my home in Idaho. They add an elegant "outdoorsy" feel to the room while adding a grand element to an otherwise very tall and blank wall space.

Our Raised Plaster Aspen Tree Stencil is super easy to use. Simply repeat the trunk to within a few feet of the height you wish your tree to be, then stencil side branches and leafy branches.

I kept playing with different looks until I came up with one that is soft and elegant.

I mixed translucent wall glaze with metallic gold paint to minimize it's effect and painted by branches in gold. I deepened the photo a bit just so you could see the detail. The gold on the trunk is actually quite light.

I used very light brown paint, diluting it a little with water and used an old terry towel to scrub a bit of shadow around the leafy branches. That action gave them depth against the light colored wall.

I then painted the leaves iridescent white. The tree glimmers slightly as you walk past it and is so lovely!
