David Prussen is an artist.... no, maybe not with canvas
and brush, but an artist just the same. An ordinary person, much the same as
you and I, yet one who appreciates beauty and craved that old Victorian
plaster on his ceilings and walls.
A man with an "artist's eye" for placement, for the
smooth flow of a unique design, with a passion (much the same as mine) for
the shadowy beauty of cast plaster... raised like a tower of sculpture off
his level ceiling.
Ah the discussions we have had by phone of how those
scrumptious and highly ornate ceiling of days gone by are making their way
back in to popularity in homes all across the country.
Like me, he found it difficult finding sources for the
molds to create his own. But our two minds have met and look what resulted!
David used a combination of 4 molds to create this
exquisite design around his ceiling fixture. Each is pictured below with a
link directly to it's product page.
David was just as elated with his creation as I am and
the greatest thing about it is that it's so darned easy! To have this design
applied by a professional literally would cost hundreds of dollars, but you
and I can do it with simple joint compound, a little imagination and some
molds.
So what are we waiting for? Release YOUR creativity and
add some beauty to that blank canvas on YOUR ceiling!
Here's what David had to say:
Hi Victoria - Here's my latest attempt at plaster ceiling design. I
used your bell flower drapes and small rosettes to circle the cartouche
and swag. The bell flowers work great although they need a little more
care than the other designs. Overall the effect is just stunning. It has
the "feel" that I was looking for. ... I'm working on a design idea for
my dining room and will be in touch soon for some more molds.. Thanks
again Victoria and I'll talk to you soon - Regards - David
I can't wait to see what else he comes up with!
Thank you, Thank you David! Talk to you soon!
