Deborah Sutton
mailed these photos to me so long ago that I can no longer remember when,
but when she called me about another issue, there her photos were, right in
front of me....(strange, don't you think?).
I remembered at that very second, the day I sat at my
desk and opening the envelope. There, inside was what appeared to be
something right off the Sistine Chapel ceiling!
Acanthus scrolls in plaster (from our mold) surrounding
beautiful stenciled cherubs against a pale blue sky, all cheerfully playing
with a garland of flowers.....
A few days before she called, I ran across the envelope
(which had been buried deep in my "must do today" pile; which grows daily!),
I moved them to the top of the pile. But hearing her voice, discussing the
project in person prompted me to unbury the scanner (yes, the pile is
sitting right on top of the scanner!) and get those photos in to the
computer so I could share with you, her beautiful, beautiful work!
Cherubs and angels never do go out of style and
especially on the ceiling. And Deborah did those cherubs justice with her
shading, her placement and certainly her over-all design.
Deborah, please forgive me for not giving them the
attention they are due! And thank you for your phone call, it was really
great to talk to you!
