Denise Laiso
and I have very similar tastes. Who knows where they came from. Maybe it
developed over watching old movies that were made in highly ornate rooms,
sporting gold fixtures and elements on the walls.
Using only two mold designs (one adding interest to the
other), she evenly spaced her elements inside the lip of her tray ceiling.
She used our Plaster
Crowned Acanthus Mold and our
Small Floral Medallion Mold.
Surrounding the light fixture with a combination of the
same two elements, she displays a very ornate and highly attractive design
that is simple and easy to do.
My favorite feature of her design is that she painted all
the pieces in gold for sheer elegance beyond compare! Not only does the
design really stand out against the lighter background, but gold always adds
an element of "opulence".
See? Just one or two molds can create the most lovely and
impressive designs. Just choose your favorites, cast them and lay them out
in different ways until you find just the perfect lay out for your room!
Thank you Denise! We love it!
Designer's tip:
Even just one mold can
create a highly ornate and beautiful medallion, frame, border or panel on
your ceilings or walls so it's not necessary to make a huge investment to
have something completely unique to your home and neighborhood. So find your
favorite and get started!
