Nancy Martindale loves color.
With sage green on the walls and a delicate blue on the ceiling, she found a
way to join the two in a unique way. Using various stencil designs, she actually created a lattice effect surrounding the blue on the ceiling to create a "mural" effect of sorts. Leaving the plaster in pure white added not only a crisp design, but gave detailed interest to the room. She continued the design down and over the walls, drawing your eyes downward in to the room. The reflected light from the chandelier gives the ceiling a soft and very inviting glow. I love the use of two colors on the ceiling. I'm going to have to give that one a try myself! Thank you Nancy! Great idea! Designer's tip: Any raised stencil design can be used to create a medallion on the ceiling. Simply choose to plaster it in a circle, oval, square or rectangle and feel free to make it as large as you wish! Even vine designs can be used in a free-form fashion to create straight designs.
