Decorating with Plaster Stenciling

An Italian Themed Home

Cammy Stenavich, a professional painter, has "attitude". No, not the personality type that tends to make you lift an eyebrow, but rather the type that makes her a unique artist....with a unique style

Cammy used our Raised Plaster Single Rose Stencil to create a wallpaper effect on the bathroom walls of one client's home. Faux finishing in deep golds and cream were the perfect background to "antiqued" roses. The client loved it!

On the plain post between two doorway openings, Cammy used our Raised Plaster Single Acanthus Stencil in one direction then flipped it over to create it's mirror image as a frieze to add interest.

But stenciling and faux finishing isn't Cammy's only talent. She also hand painted a grape "vignette" near a wall mounted lamp and then continued the theme with a corner grape vine at the doorway opening. The feel of old world Italy really comes alive in this home thanks to her vision and talent.

Thank you Cammy!

Designer's Tip: So you say you can't paint by hand? But you love the extra little details that hand painting adds? Use a permanent marker! That's right! See the little tendrils? You can do those simply by "drawing" them with a permanent marker right on to the wall! You could also add veins to leaves and more detail to woody branches in the same way. Never use a "water color marker" as these will tend to bleed and smear if you ever wash the wall.
