When we moved in to this beautiful 1977 English Tudor in Everett, Washington, the kitchen ceiling left much to be desired. Simple wood framing for the lighting had never been finished so I jumped at the chance to give it some "glam". I added cast plaster ornaments on to every "joint" and edge and then simply painted the entire ceiling the color of the walls. What resulted was a simplistic, yet much more dramatic finish to the ceiling as you can tell by the lower photo. It was so easy to do! I simply cast a number of the small medallions from the mold (available soon!) and attached them by spreading joint compound on to the back of each one and holding them in to place for 60 seconds. When they were all dry (48 hours later), I simply painted them along with the framing. Remember that kitchen cupboards, drawer fronts and pantry doors can be done using the same technique and turning your kitchen from drab to "dramatic" with little effort!
