Beautiful colors and design give a staircase a soothing new look

Shirley Anderson wanted that great look of a raised design to enhance her
plain staircase, but she also wanted color. The pale mauve of the stair carpeting gave her inspiration. She sponged colors of mauve, gray and colonial green on to the wall below the rail molding. Saving time and giving the design an over all even coloring, she decided to pre-tint the joint compound in the same colonial green and neutral brown and applied the Raised Plaster Vine Stencil over the top of her faux finish. Her keen sense of color and placement of the design resulted in a soothing palette of color and vining design that leads your eye right to the top of the staircase. Hmmmmm...wonder what the rest of her house looks like if she's this good with just the staircase!
