Decorating with Plaster Stenciling

Using a corner element, she angled it in to the tight corner or the stairs to create a dramatic visual where none existed before.

Smita pre-tinted the joint compound a rich gold which brings out the beauty of the beige and white combination of paint colors and the rich tones of the wooden stairs.

Pre-tinting the joint compound makes it easy to plaster stencil in living color! Do be sure to use a "tint" rather than paint since paint products can water down your compound and cause it to be not only difficult to work with, but the color will be less than what you wish it would be.

Tints provide "pure color" and it takes so little to tint quite a bit of compound. You can find reasonably priced tints at http://www.doitbest.com in the paint section. Just look for "Tint All" products.
