Brenda
Olstad obviously loves gardens. Rich
with flowers, cute little elements and fountains.
Here, she created an adorable setting against a stenciled
white picket fence with blooming flowers of various styles and winding
vines.
In a similar setting, she's stenciled garden boots next
to pots and flowers and a cute little stenciled garden trowel.
Below, a garden fountain graces an exposed brick wall
with vines trailing over the wall.
Simple vignettes like this are easy to achieve by
beginning with the background elements (the wall or the fence), then adding
things in the foreground (flowers, the fountain, vines, etc).
You needn't do an entire, grand mural in order to have
elements of a mural in spaces like the corner of a room, at the edge of a
doorway, above the kitchen sink where no window exists, or over the stove.
Sometimes, it's the simple vignettes like these that
actually carry the most impact. You get to decide the colors and the
placement. It's fun!
Thank you Brenda!
