Joanie Valenti  is a professional faux finish artist and stencilist in New York.

Despite the fact that Joanie and I have never met in person, we have been treasured friends for nearly 10 years now.

I am always so taken with Joanie's faux finish projects that she does for clients. Her sense of taste and quality work has been featured in magazines such as "Better Homes and Garden Window and Wall" among others.

Delicate faux finishing, as you see in Joanie's bath project can add such delicate beauty to a room.

In the rather "rich" study project below, you will get a sense that possibly someone of great stature will reside in this room with deep blue walls and leather furniture.

You can create the same sort of looks in your home that wealthy people have in theirs by learning simple faux finishing techniques.

As you can see from these photos, Joanie can turn a room in to a place you would never want to leave.

When trying you hand at faux finishing, do your idea and colors on large paper first then tape to the wall and live with it for a few days to be sure that you don't want to make changes before doing your walls.
