One of the most original and creative people I know
(yet have never had the pleasure of meeting) is
Kathy Sterling.
I recently asked Kathy if she did this for a living, for paying clients. Her
answer was "No". Well, it's an undertaking she should consider!
Kathy's uniqueness is uncommon....... yet her styling, absolutely stunning!
Visit the Egyptian Room that she's created. You'll want to come back for
more (if not see the REST of her home!).
Faux Painted Walls are the perfect backdrop for her
hand painted hieroglyphics! How authentic!
A few years ago, my husband spent 30 days in Egypt and I know for a fact
that even Kathy's color scheme is very close to what is actually used on
real Papyrus paintings and wall art in Egypt (old world and reproduction!).
Panels beside windows that are dressed in Jewel colors
and draping gold fabric lend to the feel of old world Egypt!
Creatively using our "Egyptian Background Mural" she
stenciled the scene on to a faux brick wall, encasing it into a faux stone
window!
Notice the exotic flower arrangement and "up lighting" (which I LOVE!) to
complete the look.
The beautiful colors on this backdrop make the figures
actually appear 3-D!
This close up shows you the fabulous detail included in each design.
