Decorating with Stencils

Debi Rigg  has been a stencilist and faux finish artist for quite a long time. Ultra talented with "vision" beyond what I feel even "I" possess.

Type her name in any search engine on the internet and watch sites featuring her, talking about her or displaying her work will come up for you to "oogle" over. (drool is more like it!).

Debi can take a single design and turn it in to an entire mural just by "seeing" with an artists eye.

As a faux finisher, Debi has done some of the most stunning work I have ever seen.

Here are yet more of her creative works. Grab some ideas from her (trust me, she won't mind a bit if you steal just a little) and turn your home in to the same sort of "artsy" fantasy that Debi is able to create in the homes of her many clients.

Can't decide what type of mural you might like to do in your home? Grab any of your decorating or home magazines, look at adds on television, in newspapers or even just a drive through the country might yield a "vision" for you to build upon.

Is it evergreens, set against a mountainous background? Then wash in a bit of sky color,  find a mountain stencil and one of evergreens and go for it! The only thing stopping you is fear (of the landlord maybe?). Just remember that paint is a great "brave-maker" because if you hate it, you simply just PAINT OVER IT!
