Decorating with Stencils

A plain bath becomes elegant with an oriental flavor

 Joyce White and I have become fast friends and I re-call many emails from her relating the frustration she felt waiting for the contractors to complete the tile work in her bath so that she could get in there and decorate! It finally came to pass and Joyce went to town to create a very beautiful room.

Raised plaster bamboo and palm leaves were strategically placed on the walls of Joyce White's beautiful bath. and decorate!

Reflected in the mirror you can see the open door and connecting wall with bamboo and palms as well. Painted a pale beige, the white designs show up beautifully!

But Joyce wasn't done..............

What a creative person! Joyce found oriental style ornaments to place on the doors of the sink cabinets to complete the look! The color of the wood is of a "bamboo" nature which gives it authenticity and adds to the Asian "feel" of the room.

I commend you Joyce on a job well done!

Designers tip:

Try using the plaster palm leaf stencil as a total wallpaper design, a repeated border with the leaves hanging toward the floor in various positions or fashion in to a palm plant by flipping and turning the stencil as necessary for leaves facing in different directions.
