Decorating with Stencils

A creative man's view of the Raised Plaster Stencils

Geoff Goff is a professional "Finish Trim" Carpenter from Hawaii. Discovering the new "Plaster Stencils" has created a whole new look to Geoff's residence as you can tell by his email to me. (Shared with Geoff's permission of course). Not only does he seem very creative in his decorating, but has the makings of a fabulous "can't put it down" writer!

Geoff's ideas weren't something I had ever thought of: For instance, removing the light switch plate, plaster stenciling under it then replacing it. I've since done that with my columns design in my husband's music studio

Read what he wrote:

 Victoria -
This should be the last of them for now...if you want more or better
or closer shots just let me know. I will be glad to fill in some more
for you.
They are so overpoweringly beautiful that I felt like I needed to
take a break and enjoy what I had done before I completely lost it and
turned my place into a complete jungle of stencils everywhere. Which is
actually something I plan to do at my nest house. A complete wall of a
mixture of the leaves and foliage for a total immersion of the effect. I
plan on doing them in monochromatic or super subtle shade differences
to avoid trying to compete with natures pallet and just leave an
impression of the shape. I'm getting amped up again about them...I hope you
enjoy my interpretation of your designs and labors.

Designers tip:

On ultra intricate designs, scraping off all excess joint compound or plaster product from the stencil allows the intricate detail of the design to be more exact and prominent.
