Stenciling tips and techniques from our resident "everything" expert, Fay

Stenciling on Galvanized Metal
Hi Nancy,
For years I worked with painting contractors for a living. One thing I was taught is to
always thoroughly clean tin, galvanized metal, or any metal with white vinegar before you try to paint on it. Paint will not stick to it other wise. You will also want to prime it and you can ask at a paint store, Home Depot, etc about primers for metal. Also Wal-Mart may have it in
spray cans or even in brush on and will be labeled as such and would be a lot less expensive. Once it is primed and dry you should be able to paint it, stencil or do whatever your heart desires. Have fun and thanks for contacting us. We would appreciate hearing how it
turns out for you and pics if you can. Fay
