Painted stencils are easy,
but wait until you see just how easy plaster stenciling is! Wow!

Doing the next overlay (If there
is one) |
Step #3
Many of our Plaster stencils have two overlays that give you double raise
off the wall and more dimension to your plaster design.
As with painting stencils, these will have registration holes in the top of
the stencil. Trace the holes of the #1 overlay on to the wall with a pencil.
This will aid you in lining up the #2 overlay and your design will come out
perfectly aligned. |
Plaster from the first
overlay has to dry completely before applying the second overlay. This is a
MUST and waiting is the part I absolutely hate the worst! BUT IT'S WORTH IT!
Step 1
After you have lined up the registration holes of the #2 overlay with the
pencil tracings on the wall, tape the stencil in place and apply joint
compound as before. Scraping off all excess will allow a very "crisp" image
of the detail on the second overlay. |
Step 2
Remove the second overlay as you did the first. Gently, and by pulling
toward the opposite side. |
The final result is beautiful! |
