For centuries, cast plaster ornamentation on ceilings and walls has been a trademark of the rich and famous. The  highly ornate detailing of multi-million dollar mansions cost their owners thousands of dollars to have a pro come create them.

But guess what! YOU can do it for super cheap and super easy!

Adding cast plaster ornaments to plaster stenciling makes super easy, ornate and very "expensive" looking walls and ceilings with very little effort! Give it a try!

Casting plaster is EASY!

How to cast and apply plaster mold ornaments to your walls and ceilings

1. Mix up Plaster of Paris with water. (Found in your local home or craft store). Remember? You did this in school as a kid. The directions are right on the bag.

2. Spray the inside of the mold with a spray release such as silicone or even "cooking spray".

3.Pour the plaster in.

4. Let it harden

5. Pop that little cutie out of there and apply it to the wall by spreading joint compound (the same stuff you plaster stencil with) on the back and sticking that puppy up there and holding it for a bit! It stays put just like you glued it!

That's it!!! Honest!

Painting Cast Plaster:

Ornamental Plaster can be painted! Try:

1. Spray paint- This is by far the easiest and quickest method.

2. Brush method with any type of paint.

3. Antiquing kit found in your local home or hardware store makes

your plaster pieces look like they are lovely old salvage pieces!

Designer's tip:

If you ever find that you have a hard time getting the plaster piece out of the mold, simply take a blow dryer to the mold to relax it and it comes right out!
