| I love seeing the
textures that plaster applicators do on walls with trowels. Swirls and
lines, wavy patterns and fans. They learn to do it as they apply the plaster
over wallboard in new construction. But it's difficult to master those looks
yourself. So I created this line texture
stencil to mimic that cool look of random lines left by a trowel. After
stenciling, paint the dry plaster the same color as your wall then do a
color wash over the top of it in a rich shade you love by mixing wall paint
with translucent wall glaze, wiping it on, then wiping off the excess. This
allows it to settle in the recesses and leaves a really cool pattern on your
walls.
Because there is no structured design, this stencil
pattern is perfect for more contemporary rooms or where you just want detail
and texture without pattern.
