| We're not just
talking anything even "close" to average here! We are talking "drop dead"
gorgeous! We at Victoria Larsen Home Decor
are working hard to bring you totally unusual designs, used in ways that
haven't been seen in homes other than mansions in nearly 100 years!
When I design
any straight design, my intention is that it can be used not only as a
straight border, but fashioned in to the styling of the plaster or wood
frame work that graced fine homes at the turn of the century.
These homes sported long, ornate frames on the wall
that were either painted gold or simply painted the color of the wall for
rich detail. In many cases, the inside wall of the frame was painted a
slightly different color than that of the rest of the wall to add to it's
beauty and set it apart from the main body of the full wall.
Framed paintings were then hung inside the raised
frame or they would paint soft, muted murals inside them.
My dream for my dressing room (just the moment I
get the chance!) is the paint the room in a soft taupe, create long, thin,
raised plaster frames on the walls, paint the raised portion in rich gold
then to include yet another design on the inside corners of the frame to
make it VERY elegant (something such as our "Raised plaster English
Victorian Corner and Border design).
Within those frames, I would then hang my
collection of gold framed photos of precious friends and family members.
This design also makes a very impressive raised
design just above or below current wood moldings or encircling the ceiling.
