DC Medallion Mold

 Small Acanthus Droplet Plaster Mold

Deborah Cuyle, professional faux finish artist and muralist recently purchased the most charming old home in the historic town of Snohomish, Washington.

Knowing she could make anything look prettier, she bought the home for it's character and immediately set out to transform it in to a show place of style.

The kitchen was her first order of business and you can't imagine why: blood red counter tops stared her in the face every morning and chipped, worn and outdated cabinets desperately needed help!

She first primed the cabinets then used our DC Medallion Plaster Mold and our  Small Acanthus Droplet Plaster Mold to cast identical plaster pieces for each cupboard door in her kitchen.

She smeared joint compound on the back of each piece as the adhesive, then taped them in place overnight while they dried.

The next day, she painted the entire cabinet rich gold and washed brown glaze over the top to antique them.

She then highlighted the plaster pieces in soft gold metallic paint to really give them shine and presence.
