Now,
Deborah Cuyle isn't someone who can calmly sit around
and simply enjoy the peace and quiet of a relaxing day....this girl is in
high gear all day long and she can't help it! She's the ultra creative type
with more ideas in her brain than all the hours in a day or days in a year
can handle. She has notebooks filled with them simply because she has to
capture every one of them.
When I introduced her to our
Plaster Molds, her mind just went
nuts!
Like me, she loves using throw away
items to create something new. In this case, we are talking about an old
cupboard door she found at a salvage yard.

She decided the recess was perfect for a
vignette of various plaster mold designs and that the outside edges were
perfect for a bit of Raised Plaster Stenciling with a border stencil design
and a small square mold design in the corners.
After stenciling the edges of the door
with joint compound, then laying out all of her pieces and gluing them in to
place, she primed the entire piece. painted it metallic pewter and wiped a
deeper gray glaze over the ornamental plaster pieces and raised stenciling
to bring out even more of the detail.
I fell in love with it, so she presented
it to me as a gift! What a sweetheart! It now hangs above the bed in my
guest room and sets the tone for all of the other pewter colored accessories
I have now added to the room.
Because of her creativity with this
piece, I have decided that I should create the same design on a larger scale
on an old door (instead of a cupboard door) to use as a headboard for the
bed.

piece are to the left. Simply click the links.
Thank you Deborah! For continuing to
