 Raised Plaster Life-sized Tree Stencil

Diana Kogan felt that blank space above her bed was begging for something more than just framed art...it needed "design". So she got creative with our Raised Plaster Life-sized Tree Stencil and went to work creating a really unique look!

She mirrored two trees by flipping the stencils and allowing the branches to cross one another in the center. Look how well the leaves of the stencil coordinate with her bedding. What a great choice!

By leaving the design pure white, she not only coordinated with the background of the bedding, but also contrasted with the color of the walls. Very cool!

Now, I personally could imagine laying on that bed, looking up at the ceiling and possibly using just the branch of the tree stencil to also create a circular pattern around the light fixture and maybe even border the ceiling in clustered branches over a pale gold or neutral brown paint.

Great job Diana! You've inspired us all to think "outside the box".

Designer's tip:

When doing tree designs, consider buying inexpensive canister lighting from Lowe's or Home Depot then place them on the floor to shine up on to your trees. What this does is to create intense shadow even on designs that have been left white or painted the color of the wall. Canister lights run between $5.00-$20.00 depending on the style.
