Seeing the need to create visual appeal to her otherwise
bland ceiling, Amy Anderson took
on the project of a very unique and beautiful cast plaster design around her
light fixture.
She surrounded the actual fixture with a design utilizing
two mold designs (Our
Left and Right Cherubs Mold and our
Over the Door Shell Mold) to create a smaller "inner" circle.
In designing of any kind, whether it's architecture,
interior furniture placement, or wall/ceiling decor, "space" (the absence of
elements) is important in achieving proper balance. Space can actually
add architectural interest by breaking up patterns to create a "feel" of
sorts.
It's obvious that Amy understands this often forgotten
rule of decorating.
She left the wide space between the two rings of cast
plaster elements to not only create a much larger design, but to add that
interest I speak of.
The outside circle contains our
Large Floral Medallion Mold,
6 x 6
Floral Mold,
Over the door Shell Arch Mold,
Floral Arch Mold and
Large
Oval Medallion Mold.
With her ceiling design done, she can now use those molds
for many other designs as in ornate wall borders or medallions, on
furniture, or even cast in concrete to add interest to her garden.
I can only imagine the "Wow's" and "How did you do
that's" that come from her friends and family as they step in to her room
and feast their eyes upon the creative beauty she added to her ceiling with
little expense and no experience.
Fabulous Amy! We're impressed!
