Nancy Hathaway wouldn't stand for just "plain" anymore!
She snatched up that old bookshelf and decided to do something fanciful with
it by adding cast plaster!
Giving it a quick coat of cheerful paint, Nancy cast her
plaster shells and glued them to the sides, adding color to them prior to
application.
The result was something Nancy thought would be a totally
cute addition to her home.
Cute matching footstools would be an adorable addition to
that case along with real sea shells displayed on it's shelves and a few
books about the ocean. Themes kids! Themes... it's fun!
Cast plaster is so easy to do:
Mix 2 parts plaster of paris in to one part water and
stir it smooth.
Pour the plaster in to a mold that has been sprayed with
any release product (even Pam cooking spray!).
Wait 45 minutes for it to harden, pop it out and let it
dry.
Now, add them to ceilings, walls, furniture, gift boxes
or anything that a bit of "relief" design is desired.
