Decorating with Stencils
A bright purple bath turns in to a regal retreat!

Two coats of Cream colored paint, some plaster stenciling and cast plaster ornamentation turned thus bath (not yet finished) in to a much more enjoyable and beautiful space.
I plaster stenciled our Raised Plaster Acanthus single design on the walls in to frames (that's simply repeating the design along the top, bottom and sides to create the size frame you desire). Then I painted the inside of the frame a very pale gray to match the tiles on the flooring.
I used our Raised Plaster Graceful Vine to create a background motif of deep gray leaves with standard acrylic paints and then attached cast plaster wreath ornaments and our "Bellflower Drape" mold on either side of it, reaching out toward the plaster frame.
As you can see in the top photo, the windows have curtains on a spring rod, but the actual draping has not yet occurred (since I haven't yet found the exact material I want there). But check out the great swag holders I found at Lowes! They're a cool Pineapple design which means "welcome"! (OK, But WHO is it I want to welcome in to my bathroom?).
I also used the "Raised Plaster Graceful Vine" stencil with standard acrylic paints to create a draping vine in the corners of the room in the same deep gray that I did them in the central portion of my plaster frame work.
Some coordinating guest towels complete with pale gray fringe complete the look, along with a few strategically placed candles in Italian style holders.
Kids, I swear (with my pinky finger!) If I can do this, so can YOU! It's not difficult and the results of the time it takes are so beautiful!
